Pierrepont Middle School

Pierrepont School, on the corner of Pierrepont and Lincoln avenues, first opened in 1909. The front building is the original construction. An auditorium and a gymnasium were opened in conjunction with the expansion of the building in the 1930s to accommodate a junior high school, a function the school served from then until 1959. In 1975, the 7th and 8th grades returned here from Rutherford Junior High, and in 2005 the building became strictly a middle school, for grades 4 through 8. In a later restructuring, the school came to serve all Borough pupils in grades 4 through 6.
