Barrows Avenue starts at Ridge Road and runs east to Orient Way. At one time, streets crossed Barrows Avenue and continued to Rutherford Avenue, but with the 1948 completion of NJ 3, those streets now end at Barrows.
The road appears to continue east of Orient Way, but this is a later service road for the interchange of NJ 3 and NJ 17, now called the Dunn Memorial Highway.
