The original Athletic Park was built in 1936. The field is essentially the same today, with very short dimensions (about 310 feet down each line, 360 to center) that play deeper because of the prevailing winds out of the northwest, which is the unusual direction the batter faces here.
However, about all that remains of the 1936 stadium are the outer walls and the box office. The main stadium was totally rebuilt ahead of the 2014 season of the Wisconsin Woodchucks, a Northwoods League (college summer) team that has occupied the park since 1994, three years after its last use in the Minors. The park is now quite fan-friendly, with most of the seating on the second level. There are club areas at ground level, including premium box seating directly behind the plate.
