For a dozen years, the Mets had their rookie league team at this high school field in Marion, Va., alongside the railroad tracks two blocks off the Lee Highway (US 11). While I am fairly certain the baseball field has not moved, there may have been a more substantial seating area during the years in which the field was used in the Appalachian League.

I took these photos while the ground crew was getting the football field ready for a scrimmage.
