Daybreak Field

Quick Facts:
Smith’s Ballpark, on South Temple in Salt Lake City, had one of the most picturesque views one could find in Minor League Baseball. But as a 1994 facility built on an even older site (Derks Field had been used since 1928), opportunities for enhancement were limited.

Miller Sports and Entertainment, owner of the Salt Lake Bees and several other enterprises (Larry H. Miller is a well-known auto dealer in the Southwest), opted for 2025 to relocate the Bees to a new community in nearby South Jordan called Daybreak. Notably, this is a privately-funded venture, as is the entire Daybreak community, built on an old copper mine that has been thoroughly cleaned and has become the fastest-growing community in Utah.

America First Credit Union holds partial naming rights, but the Daybreak name will be most prominently displayed and used.

Photos and a full review will be posted after I attend a game.
