Quick Facts:
This expansive complex opened in 1969 to house the Little League program for the Town of Newburgh, the more rural area that bounds the aging City of Newburgh to the north and west. The main complex includes four fields with both 60-foot and 90-foot distances; an additional softball field and a Tee Ball field have since been added.

These photos are mainly of Frank Policano Field, the main field for Major Baseball (60-foot bases, 46-foot pitching distance). Thanks to ample parking and seating, this field hosted Little League Baseball’s East Region championships for several years through 1986. A regional victory by Bristol, Conn., in 1984 got that city on the Little League map, and in 1987 Little League opened a new regional headquarters and field complex there, about 15 miles west of Hartford. The region tournament, the last stop before the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pa., has been held in Bristol ever since.
