The field, along the Passaic River, is awkwardly placed between the North Arlington High School complex, known as Rip Collins Field, and an industrial building. In order to allow decent field dimensions for Little League play, the backstop is sacrificed here. Until 2018, there was practically no room behind the catcher, which led not only to tight squeezes for umpires working games but also to interesting bounces on wild pitches and passed balls. Prior to the 2018 season, the press box building behind the plate was removed and the backstop was moved back to a more normal depth.

In addition, there is no seating along the base lines here. The only spectator views are in the outfield. The scoreboard, in left field, is angled so that spectators in the outfield can see it as well as the players and coaches on the field.
