Highland Park Stadium, located in the park by that name in the center of Kokomo, hosted seven years of Minor League ball from 1955 to 1961. The park features fair dimensions except for the right-field line, which is only 270 feet from the plate owing to a city street that could not be vacated.
I have no idea when the old stadium structure was torn out; new grandstands were erected for the 1985 American Legion World Series, and they are still on the site.
I was not able to get into Highland Park Stadium on my 2009 visit.
In 2015, the city of Kokomo built a new park several miles away, closer to downtown, to be the home of college and high school baseball in the city.
