Quick Facts:
The University of Central Florida was founded as Florida Technological University in 1963, with the aim of training support personnel for the then-burgeoning United States space program headquartered at Cape Canaveral, 35 miles to the east. Classes began in 1968. The school expanded at its site in the northeast corner of Orange County and acquired its current name in 1978. While the campus is entirely outside Orlando city limits, most of Orange County (and parts of Seminole County, which the campus borders on its north edge) that is not part of another incorporated city is generally referred to as Orlando, and the Knights athletic program styles itself as “Orlando’s Hometown Team”.

Jay Bergman Park was built in 2001 for the UCF baseball program. At the time, Bergman was the head coach, having had significant success in the Atlantic Sun Conference and in reaching NCAA regional tournaments. The year the park was built, the Knights were ranked as high as No. 7 in the country. Bergman left the program in 2008 under questionable circumstances, during his 26th season and after 994 victories with the Knights. His name remained on the baseball stadium until it was renamed for trustee and benefactor John Euliano in 2016. Euliano’s gift allowed for continued expansion and renovation, including the addition of a premium club section on the second level behind home plate.

The stadium itself consists of premium seating behind the plate, bleacher-back reserved seating on the lower level, an upper level of aluminum bleachers along the first-base (home) side only (the sun is behind these seats during early evenings), and general-admission berm areas down both foul lines. The covered batting cages for the Knights are visible to fans on the first-base side.
