A quick peek inside, from down the third-base line. |
A prior incarnation of the stadium, made almost entirely of wood, was built in the early 1960s and hosted a team in the nominally independent Western Canada League. In 1975, the Montréal Expos moved a farm club into that stadium, and in 1977 the park was rebuilt to Minor League standards and is the facility you see here.
The Lethbridge Mounties and, later, the Black Diamonds called this park home through 1998. The next season, the Black Diamonds relocated to Missoula, Mont., and became the Osprey.
The park is still used today for amateur baseball.
