Preble Place is a one-block street running south from Gouverneur Avenue, and hooking into Marginal Road. Prior to NJ 3, Preble Place continued to Rutherford Avenue. For years, it was a one-way street running from Gouverneur Avenue, but the 2013 NJ 3 Passaic River Bridge replacement project closed the south end of the street to traffic and a cul-de-sac was built. A sidewalk still connects to the corner of Stuyvesant Avenue and Marginal Road.
