Sean Irving of Naborhood Pharmacy hits safely in his first 11 games, giving him a 25-game hitting streak over two seasons. The overall record lasts until 2006, when Cody McCallum puts together a three-season, 27-game streak, later surpassed by Van Weber in 2017.
Keller-Depken Oil goes 16-0 to win the American League title. This time, unlike in 1972, the club emerges from the playoffs unscathed, winning the town title handily, 15-6 over Park Sunoco.
