For me, the key to enjoying Nevada has been not to waste time in Las Vegas. In four trips there, I've watched five minor-league baseball games and made a $10.50 donation to a casino. The Hoover Dam, harnessing the Colorado River, is an impressive sight. And with the exception of Reno and Carson City, the rest of the state is sparsely populated and quite beautiful. They call US 50 the Loneliest Road in America because you encounter just three towns in 240 miles. And just wait until you get a look at Lake Tahoe from the overlook heading west from Carson City ...
