Quick Facts:
Prior to Florida and Arizona becoming established as the primary locations for spring training, major league teams used various sites from Indiana to Texas. One of the sites they chose was this field in Waxahachie, adjacent to the city cemetery, which had been used for a Class D team for a few seasons. The city is located about 20 miles south of a line between Dallas and Fort Worth.

The field has seen continual use since. Future major league manager Paul Richards played his high school ball on the field in the early 1920s; the field was dedicated to him in the 1980s.
