Mitchell Field

Entering Mitchell Field, Jun-2019.

Two of the seating sections, and the simple net to protect spectators.

The view from roughly behind the plate.

Quick Facts:
The city of Swift Current briefly had a team in professional baseball, but most of its history has been in the league that has now evolved into the college summer Western Canadian Baseball League. The team was called the Indians for years, but changed its name to the 57’s for the sake of political correctness and to honor the (supposed) 57 years the club was known as the Indians.

Mitchell Field consists of three grandstands, sheltered by a simple net strung up behind the plate for maximum visibility for spectators. This setup is similar to that in Regina.
