Rome Baseball Association

The complex is on the grounds of the former Griffiss Air Force Base.

Press-box look at Volunteer Field.

Quick Facts:
Griffiss Air Force Base was a mainstay in Rome, N.Y., for many years. The base was decommissioned, and while part of it remains as a regional airport (classified as an international airport as there are some flights to Canada), other parts of the complex have been repurposed.

One corner of the complex now hosts the home fields for the Rome Baseball Association. The main field is known as Delutis Field, but there are three other fields on site. The amateur game I attended here in 2010 was on Volunteer Field, the other regulation-sized field at the facility. Two other fields have Little League dimensions.
