This coastal city, the gateway to Jekyll Island, had gone without professional baseball for 36 years until a Pirates farm club landed in town in 1951. For the 1952 season, town fathers erected this ballpark and dedicated it to local baseball mover and shaker Edo Miller.
The park continued to host professional baseball through 1963, albeit with a three-year hiatus. There was also one season, 1957, where the team split time between Brunswick and Moultrie. Today, the park hosts two high schools, Brunswick HS and Glynn Academy, as well as travel teams. Major League pitcher Adam Wainwright got his start here, playing for Glynn Academy.
I was unable to get into Edo Miller Park on my 2020 visit.
