Quick Facts:
When the Boston Red Sox utilized City of Palms Park as their spring training home, they had one back field available to them on the site. The bulk of their training took place here, at the Lee County Player Development Complex, popularly known as “the 5-Plex” for the number of fields it contained. The complex is about two miles east of City of Palms Park.

The facility’s five fields are still maintained and used mainly for amateur events, ranging from colleges getting games in during their spring break trips to the World Series of Roy Hobbs Baseball, a national program for amateur players over 30 years old. The facility’s batting cage tunnels are also intact and used by event participants. For many of these events, a food truck is also available near the entrance.
