This relatively nondescript park, adjacent to an elementary school, saw one season of professional action. In 1979, a California League expansion team came here, only to move north of the Golden Gate, to Rohnert Park, for the 1980 season. Ironically, the Padres were not affiliated with the San Diego team of the same name. The Padres’ affiliate at the time was the Reno Silver Sox.

I was unable to get into Washington Park on my 2006 visit.
