Martín the Cowboy Chicken

In 2000, Bayamón had a mascot, a chicken named Martín. ("Martin's Chicken" is a restaurant chain.) He showed up in leather vest and sixguns or various other guises and props, like the Famous Chicken act in the US. Sometimes he brought three young mascots similarly costumed. Once after an inning that had a bad call, they all came out and Martín instructed each chick in turn to lift his leg as if to urinate on the umpire. Martín's antics sometimes continued, with PA commentary, into an at-bat. Once players he was bothering on the field tied him down to a lawn chair. Luckily, there were no foul balls while he was defenseless.

Martín figures prominently in my 2000 trip report.

Martín is not with the team in 2001; I've heard two conflicting stories that the actor is with another team in this league (and no longer a chicken). The Cowboys featured a cowboy, with sixgun and lariat, for the first couple of games, but lately there has been no mascot.
