Remember when Arlington Co., Va., was part of D.C.? I hope not. The Feds gave those 32 square miles back to Virginia in 1846! Of the part that remains today, my favorite attraction by far is the Smithsonian Institution, particularly the National Air and Space Museum. In 1993, I rode to the top of the Washington Monument. Unfortunately, there was something going on at the White House that day and there were no tours. One of these years! Oh, and I did see the Capitol some years ago, too. Now they’ve built a sports arena in Chinatown and a baseball stadium south of the Capitol, adding to the long list of D.C. attractions.
