St. Mary High School

St. Mary High School opened in the early 1930s, serving largely parishioners of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church. The school is overseen by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. Today, much of its student population is from out of town, as Catholic schools in the cities of Passaic and Clifton have closed in recent decades. However, several Rutherford families remain dedicated to the school and continue to send their children there.
