In the second game, Sam Ferretti of Springs faced Mike Andler of Runner on the mound.
Springs scored two runs in the first on hits by Bobby Rose and Joe Witterschein, then added four more in the second on infield hits by Scott Dreher, Mike Jones and Sam Ferretti, plus some loose infield play.
The seventh Springs run was scored in the third on hits by Witterschein and Dreher. Dave Bailey then took the mound for Roadrunner and pitched shutout ball for the remaining three innings.
Roadrunner picked up a run in the fourth on a triple by Dennis Rogers and single by Keith Klein, then exploded for seven runs in the top of the sixth.
Rogers started the winning rally with a double, reached third on a wild pitch and scored on Jim Kelly’s fly ball. Billy Brancato and Klein then singled and Andler reached on an error to fill the bases. A forceout at home made it two outs, but Bailey doubled to left to drive in three runs and make it 7-5.
After Ben Calvitti walked and Mike Sgaramella singled to load the bases, Rogers doubled home three runs to put Roadrunner ahead to stay, 8-7.
