The Junior Chamber of Commerce took over undisputed possession of first place in the National Little League last Thursday by virtue of a 5-0 win over Rotary, with which they had been tied. Surprise starter Ned Lygas shut out Rotary with one hit, Billy Hands’ single in the third inning.

The winners stowed the game away in the first on a pair of walks, an infield out and Rich Butcher’s single, adding three in the second for good measure on three walks, two hit batsmen and an infield play.

Rich Butcher got both of the winners’ hits, one a double.
