( 3- 6) KIWANIS 0 2 1 0 0 4 -- 7 4 4 ( 5- 4) PASTORI 0 5 1 3 0 x -- 9 8 3 W - Wisloff (1-2) L - Alyea (1-4)
Last Wednesday, Pastore fought off a four run last ditch Kiwanis rally to pull a 9-7 game out of the fire and start the spurt that carried them into second place.
Pastore, with a five run second inning, a singleton in the third, and three more tallies in the fourth frame, led the Kiwanis 9-3 entering the sixth and last inning.
Then with one away, Muench and Olson of the losers drew bases on balls. Herrmann followed with a single, and Smith drove in a pair of tallies with a clean single.
Porter, who was two for four on the day, drove in another pair of runs when he hit safely, and on the first two pitches to Tanton, Porter stole second and third, to be perched securely in scoring position.
But Wisloff, on the mound for Pastore, got Tanton to look at a third strike and end the rally before too much damage was done.
