(13- 4) ELKS 4 4 2 2 6 --18 12 1 ( 4-12) PASQUIN 1 0 0 7 0 -- 8 6 5 W - Place (5-0) L - Sloan (0-4) HR - Place (2)
Scoring in every inning last Wednesday, the Elks out-thumped Pasquin 18-8, just to prove they could do it. The Elks had already clinched first place in the American circuit standings.
Phil Place led the front-runners attack with a home run and a triple, while Johnny vanderveer with three singles and Vic Arata with two, also contributed heavily to the crush.
Pasquin was sloppy in the field with five errors behind moundsman Sloan, who absorbed his fourth loss of the season. Place took the victory for the winners coasting for his fifth straight. He was knocked around only in the fourth inning when seven Pasquin runs scored.
