The Legion continued its move on first with a 7-3 win over the Lions behind Dave Ross’s three hit hurling. The Legion had to fight off a two run rally in the bottom of the last inning by the Lions, but had racked up three of their own in the top of the sixth to gain enough of a margin for the victory.
The Lions put together their two-run sixth on Ray Reardon’s single, booming triple by Dave Lambie, and an infield error. But the Legion sixth, featured by Bob Johnson’s single, a home run by Wilcox, and Dan Gasalberti’s triple, was too much for the Lions.
