PASTORI 0 2 0 1 3 0 -- 6 5 - JAYCEES 3 0 0 3 0 1 -- 7 5 - W - Schweizer L - Fitzgerald
Third baseman Smith crossed the plate with an unearned run in the bottom of the sixth and final inning to win a tight 7-6 contest for the Junior Chamber of Commerce over the Pastori Builders nine Saturday morning.
Two walks and two Pastori errors combined to bring the third baseman home, as he led off with a walk, went down to second on a fielders choice, took third when Rachesky walked, and came home on an error by the first baseman with Sullivan at bat.
The Junior Chamber started off the scoring with three runs in the first when their first five batters reached base safely, three via the walk route.
Pastori got back into the game with a two-run second, and knotted things up with an ace in the fourth. The C. of C. crew pushed across three more tallies on one hit in the fourth, but Pastori came back with three in their end of the fifth.
With the game all knotted up at 6-6, the Junior Chamber scored to win in the sixth.
Each team got but five hits in the contest. Schweizer was credited with the victory, while Fitzgerald was charged with the loss.
