In Tuesday afternoons game, sloppy play predominated, though the hitters, too, were effective, slamming out a total of twenty hits, with the defeated Pastoremen accounting for thirteen off Junior Chamber hurler Chuck Roedema. There were nine misplays, with Pastore again leading the way with a half dozen.
The lead switched back and forth almost every inning, as Pastore scored a singleton to lead in the first, the Chamber came back with two of their own, and then Pastore got three in the second to regain the lead.
The Junior Chamber added two in the third to reknot the game, as Chuck Roedema slammed a two out round tripper to right.
Then it was Pastore again with a singleton in the fourth, and the Junior Chamber back with a four run outburst in their fourth on five singles, a walk, and an error at third.
Pastore, still not out of the game, poured across two in the fifth to come back in contention, and three in the top of the sixth to gain a 10-8 lead.
But the Chamber nine took advantage of Pastore hurler Mel Lewiss lack of control, to score three times in the sixth and wrap up the game. After Butterworth walked and Roedema was on via an error by Alvarez, Vanderveer bounced out to the pitcher, as both runners advanced.
Then three bases on balls and a hit batsman followed in order to give the Junior Chamber the win.
