Defeating the Junior Chamber 12-11 in an old-fashioned slugfest, Pastore kept alive their determined bid for second place in Rutherford’s Little League.

Pastore pushed across a run in the top of the sixth when DeCarlo crossed the plate on Cavallano’s single, and it turned out that they needed it, as the Junior Chamber, fighting hard to get back in the game, came back with a single tally in their half of the final frame and had the tying run on base as the final out was registered.

Pastore started off the scoring with three runs in the first on only a pair of hits, but the Junior Chamber came back with four in the bottom end of the inning. The rally was featured by a pair of triples off the bats of Roedema and Rachesky.

In the second Pastore kept on with their scoring ways, pouring in a half dozen tallies. Lambi’s base clearing three bagger was the big blow.

The Junior Chamber got a single run in their second when Dan Fiscella clouted a round tripper with the bases untenanted.

And Pastore answered with two of their own in the third, to gain an 11-5 lead. This time it was a home run by new-addition Pollara that did the damage, as Sloan, on via a single, crossed the plate ahead of him.

Still in the game, the Junior Chamber came back with four in their third in a two hit, two walk rally. They scored another in the fourth when two walks, a hit batsman, and a double by Gusera combined to bring first baseman Schweizer home.
