Monday afternoon underdog Pastore fought from behind to score two runs in the sixth and final frame and cop a close 7-6 tilt from the Rotary. Pastore led after the first, as Jack Sloan crossed the plate on an error by first baseman Van Biert, who threw to third unnecessarily after a routine play at first base.

The Rotary came roaring back with a five run second frame featured by the grand slam round tripper of Gene Cole. But Pastore answered with three in their second, on three walks and a pair of singles.

Rotary increasead their lead with a single tally in the fifth frame, but Pastore, still fighting, offset that with one of their own, setting the stage for the game winning rally.

Hurler Pollara, a newcomer to Pastore, who excelled at bat as well as on the mound, walked, sandwiching a pair of outs. Then, with two away and a man on, Lewis was hit by the pitcher, and Jim Bull walked to load the sacks.

A clutch single to left field by DiCarlo drove in two runs and won the ball game. Pollara was credited with the victory in his first Little loop start, while the loss was charged against relief pitcher Van Biert.
