With a declining enrollment especially at the 9- and 10-year-old baseball age groups, the League scales back to eight Major Baseball teams, four in each league. The schedule remains at 17 games and now features three games against each league rival and two games against each interleague opponent. The teams sponsored by Lions and Fire Department are phased out; however, the long-standing sponsorships are retained, with the previous Boiling Spring Masons team becoming Lions and the former V.F.W. Post 227 team going forward as Fire.
Interleague play in softball, introduced at the Junior level in 2016, is expanded for 2017. Major Softball is split into 11-12 and 9-10 levels, and each level competes with area towns such as Carlstadt, Lodi, Lyndhurst, and Wallington that have also joined the Little League program.
Another successful baseball tournament season, which featured a record total of 30 games played at Tom Mellody Field, concludes with the 11U team winning the district and section titles, and the 10U team capturing a district crown.
