When Mr. Gilio dies in the off-season, an opening is created for a National League sponsor. B. Altman & Co., the department store that recently opened a warehouse in the Rutherford meadows, takes over.
Bob Ulrich becomes the only pitcher in League history to throw two shutouts in the playoffs when he wins Games 1 and 3 of the Town Series for Sifford. Ulrich scatters eight hits in his twelve innings of work as he records 8-0 and 4-0 victories over Legion.
