The road starts at SR 519 in “downtown” Hope, and continues north, across NJ 94, and then joins US 206 for 9½ miles before turning along the Delaware River just short of the toll bridge to Milford. The seven northernmost miles along the river provide a free route to Port Jervis. A house on the east side of the highway straddles the state line in the shadow of I-84, which misses entering New Jersey by several hundred feet.
