North Carolina Baseball Museum

Entrance to the North Carolina Baseball Museum, Aug-2005.

An exhibit hall shows off memorabilia from Tar Heel State teams.

Another hall displays artifacts dealing with the state’s Hall of Famers.

Quick Facts:
I was not aware that there even was a North Carolina Baseball Museum until I saw a tourist brochure at a state visitor center on I-95 the day I was going to visit Fleming Stadium, on whose grounds the museum resides.

The museum pays tribute to the people and places who have made baseball history throughout the Tar Heel State. One section includes programs, scorecards, and the like from various teams in the state’s history, while another exhibit is devoted to players from the state who are enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame, such as Buck Leonard and Catfish Hunter.

Open hours are Thursday through Sunday. The museum is staffed by volunteers; there is a nominal admission fee.
