Joannes Park Stadium
Outside Joannes Field, Aug-2006.
The playing field, as seen from just outside the first-base gate.
A peek in from the outfield, through a hole in the fence.
- Location: Baird and Walnut streets, Green Bay, Wis.
- Field first used: 1929
- Home team: Green Bay Blue Jays (1956-61); Green Bay Sultans, Prairie League (1996)
- Capacity: 2,500 (approx.)
Joannes Park, in which this ballpark is located, is across the street from a school, just east of Baird Street between Mason and Main in one of the older parts of Green Bay.
The stadium saw a season of use in the short-lived Prairie League in 1996. It currently plays home to the Bullfrogs of the Northwoods League, a summer college wood-bat league. The Bullfrogs lease the stadium from the City of Green Bay and have begun improvements to the facility.
I was not able to get into Joannes Park Stadium on my 2006 visit.
