Dietz Memorial Stadium

The current football configuration. This photo may have been from behind where the plate was when it hosted baseball – or maybe not.

Quick Facts:
Dietz Memorial Stadium started out as a combination baseball and football facility. It hosted one season of professional ball, in the low-level Colonial League.

In 1988, in a fit of practicality, the baseball field was torn out and an artificial turf football field arose in its place. Today, there is nothing that points to the facility’s prior use as a professional baseball park.

I had mentioned that home plate might have been in the corner from which I took the second photo above. However, a site visitor named Barry pointed out in 2007 that the plate was in the far left end zone.
