Quick Facts:
These photos are from the Little League field at the Palisades Park section of Overpeck County Park, an expansive Bergen County facility that extends for a mile along the Overpeck Creek. Park facilities are also found in Leonia, Ridgefield Park, and Teaneck.

This field, used most often by the Palisades Park/Leonia Little League, is one of four baseball and softball fields located just south of Vince Lombardi Field, a football field dedicated to the former head coach at St. Cecilia High School in nearby Englewood who went on to greater glory as head coach of the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League.

The Little League field has a most unusual setup, in that the “grass” areas are artificial turf but the base paths and areas around home plate and the pitcher’s mound are dirt.

Field distances are somewhat conventional for Little League, 185 feet down the lines and 200 to center. There is a press box located behind home plate, and each team has a dedicated bullpen area adjacent to its dugout that can also be used as a batting cage.
