The Peoria Sports Complex originated in 1978 as a set of community ball fields. Since the construction of a professional ballpark on the site in 1994, the facility, about 15 miles northwest of downtown Phoenix, has seen plenty of action, most of it in the spring. Two Major League teams use it in March; in addition, one of the Japanese professional teams used it for several seasons, as did a Korean league team. On top of that, the Arizona Fall League, a loop for prospective Major Leaguers that starts during the Major League Baseball playoffs, utilizes the field in October and November.

Site visitor Bob Flynn advises that the Phoenix Firebirds, whose home field was Scottsdale Stadium, used the Peoria ball field on fireworks nights from 1994-97 thanks to a noise restriction in Scottsdale.

Following an initial visit on an Easter weekend with no game going on, I got back here for Arizona Fall League games in 2016.
