State Highways of New Jersey



SR 542 cuts a twenty-mile swath through the southern part of New Jersey’s Pine Barrens, starting from downtown Hammonton and heading east, across the Mullica River, and ending up in the New Gretna section of Bass River Township. Along the way, it passes the Batsto State Historic Site, between the Mullica and Batsto rivers.
