State Highways of New Jersey

NJ 147 is North Wildwood Boulevard, which was taken over and improved by the state when the need arose to fix the bridges leading out to the northern end of the Wildwood barrier island.

The highway gets its number because of its proximity to NJ 47, Delsea Drive, although the highways are not related and there is no plan to connect them with a state highway (other than the ones that connect to both, US 9 and the Garden State Parkway). The roads are about 2˝ miles apart.
